We’re going to be performing in Festival Hall. Our performance schedule is:
Saturday, May 21st 2011 @ 12 noon, 1 PM, 4PM, 5:30 PM, and 7 PM.
Sunday, May 22nd 2011 @ 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 3 PM, and 4 PM.

Omega Recoil is going to be performing at the Bay Area Maker Faire 2011 this year, May 21st and 22nd. Our fellow “coilers” ArcAttack! are going to be on one of the main stages, so we’re leaving the big coil at home. But we’ve got some other toys that we’ll be bringing. More on that later.

Sometimes, even when things go wrong, they look awesome. Here’s a shot from our Do It for Haiti show that William Keller caught of a strike to our secondary coil. OUCH! That’s not supposed to happen.
Great shot, but that’s going to take a LOT of work back at the shop to fix. Most likely we’re going to have to replace that secondary completely.
Jon Sarriugarte caught some great footage of our show at NIMBY for the “Do It for Haiti” fundraiser.
Another adventure in hanging the coil from a crane. This time we, Omega Recoil, hung our entire setup from a gantry crane at American Steel Studios for Sand by the Ton. It was quite an effort – we even had to get the broken crane running for the first time in who knows how long. There were a lot of challenges – our first show was stopped short by the Fire Marshall due to the crowd we drew. In the end it was well worth it. We had a show where both the performer and the Tesla Coil were able to move around the performance space.
